Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya was a distinguished Indian civil engineer, scholar, and statesman who made significant contributions to modernizing India’s infrastructure and advancing engineering education. His birthday, 15th September, is celebrated nationwide as Engineer’s Day in India, in honor of his remarkable supremecy.
Progressive United Engineering Association (PUEA) is a collective body of Engineers serving across various departments under the Government of West Bengal. We aim to promote unity, professional development, and welfare of our members while contributing to the state’s infrastructure and development goals.PUEA is a professional body of government engineers in West Bengal, working to safeguard dignity, promote fairness, and ensure professional excellence. Since 2015, PUEA has been the trusted platform for all engineers and technical professionals—advocating for rights, recognition, and career growth.

This guide provides an overview for aspiring engineers who wish to join government sectors in West Bengal. Follow the steps and prepare accordingly.
You must have a diploma or degree (B.E/B.Tech) in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Apply for exams conducted by WBPSC, Municipal Affairs, PWD, etc. based on your qualification and notifications published.
Once selected through written exams and/or interviews, you will be appointed to various departments under government or semi-government sectors.
