Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya

Born: 15 September 1861   |   Died: 14 April 1962

Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya was a distinguished Indian civil engineer, scholar, and statesman who made significant contributions to modernizing Indiaโ€™s infrastructure and advancing engineering education. His birthday, 15th September, is celebrated nationwide as Engineerโ€™s Day in India, in honor of his remarkable supremecy.

How to Become an Engineer in Govt / Semi-Govt / Local Bodies under Govt of West Bengal

This guide provides an overview for aspiring engineers who wish to join government sectors in West Bengal. Follow the steps and prepare accordingly.

1. Complete Your Engineering Degree

You must have a diploma or degree (B.E/B.Tech) in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.

2. Appear for WBPSC / Municipal / PWD Exams

Apply for exams conducted by WBPSC, Municipal Affairs, PWD, etc. based on your qualification and notifications published.

3. Qualify and Get Appointed

Once selected through written exams and/or interviews, you will be appointed to various departments under government or semi-government sectors.
